MOUSE HUNTOut of Season I fully expected this to be just another kiddie film, and much of it plays like a cross between a Tom and Jerry cartoon and Home Alone. But a lot of it is also pretty funny, too. The setting keeps things interestingly unbalanced - clothes and cars set the film mostly in the early '50s, but there's also more modern details wrapped in retro like color television and answering machines. Nathan Lane and Lee Evans play brothers who've inherited an aging string factory and a creaky old mansion that turns out to be an architectural rarity. Their scheme to auction off the property for millions is hindered by an impish and indestructible mouse. Of course, they continue to screw things up by trying to kill the mouse, especially after they hire the eccentric Caesar the Exterminator (Christopher Walken) to help out. Hilarity ensues.
