THE BRIDES OF GHOST HUNTER RICHARD
CROWE: THE DEVIL AT THE WORLD'S FAIR
THE BRIDES OF GHOST HUNTER
RICHARD CROWE: THE DEVIL AT THE WORLD'S FAIR EDITION
opens Friday March 13 and runs Friday and Saturday
nights, 8PM doors open, play starts at 8:15 PM. The show
is set to run until Saturday May 9th. No reservations
needed, 773- 665- 1110. The Brides re-enact the
supernatural stories of Chicago and you'll discover
Chicago's gangster past. Admission is $10. FREE PARKING
BOTH SIDES OF THE STREET. Each patron will receive
a limited edition H.H. Holmes
Commemorative Coin, in this case a wooden nickle!
The first commemorative coins and stamps
were introduced at the Chicago 1893 World's Fair, in
keeping with that spirit we decided a coin for our
patrons many of whom have seen every edition of the play
was in order.
The Liar's Club may not be the first
place you think of for a play, but the cast utilizes the
entire bar as the set. You might just be sitting next to
one of the performers. Not a cheesy mystery show or a
fake wedding, this is a re-enactment of supernatural
stories told from the women's point of view. Even if you
don't believe in ghosts, you will know more about
Chicago's hidden history than people who have been here
their entire lives.
Chicago ghost stories became a way for
parts of the city to keep alive the truth of what
happened at any given incident - without fear of
reprisals or repercussions. After all, they were just
telling folklore, right?
Daniel Burnham was rejected by Ivy League
schools, did poorly in school, and was considered a
loser when he came up with the idea of creating a
dazzling White City with the Fair.
H.H. Holmes was a professional. Brilliant
in school, he was teaching by the age of 16. He was the
best and the brightest of his day, and he was also a
homicidal maniac.

THE BRIDES OF GHOST HUNTER RICHARD CROWE
Welcome to the news about a new play opening in Chicago, an unusual play in an unusual setting. THE BRIDES OF GHOST HUNTER RICHARD CROWE is the first play ever done about a living ghost hunter.
THE BRIDES OF GHOST HUNTER RICHARD CROWE: THE CHRISTMAS EDITION!
THE BRIDES OF GHOST HUNTER RICHARD CROWE isn't a "spook" show, it is a loving tribute to the stories of neighborhoods told by grandparents to their grandchildren, the tales told late at night at neighborhood bars, from the perspective of a ghost hunter who never met a ghost he didn't like! Introducing: Richard Crowe!
RICHARD T. CROWE
is a Chicago based collector of unusual folklore and ghostlore. He was a founding member of Ivan T. Sanderson's Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained (SITU) and belongs to the International Fortean Organization (INFO), the Merry Gangsters Literary Society and many other specialist groups. Mr. Crowe has both a BA and an MA in English Literature from DePaul University and organized the very first Chicago Ghost Tour for DePaul's Geographical Society while finishing his studies there in 1973.
Crowe now has a business that consists of day and evening bus tours, summer boat cruises, lectures, theme parties, and out of state weekend trips -- but everything he does revolves around ghosts, the supernatural, the unexplained!
Pursuing ghostlore and folklore, Crowe has visited Ireland (12 times), England (6 times), Scotland, Yugoslavia (twice), Jamaica, Mexico and many partsa of the US. In May of 1997, Crowe toured Hong Kong, Macau and South China just before the return of Hong Kong to the PRC. He then returned to Chicago to create his Supernatural Chinatown package: lunch in a haunted restaurant, slide talk and two hour walking tour. Among his new discoveries was a block in Chinatown with four hauntings!
Crowe is a member of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (CCTB), the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce.
As the original full-time professional ghost hunter in the Midwest, Crowe is very popular on the TV and radio talk show circuit. He has appeared on ABC-TV's "That's Incredible!", NBC's "Unsolved Mysteries", "Oprah", and "The Gordon Elliott Show". He was a consultant on and appeared in Yorkshire (England) TV's "Arthur C. Clarke's World of Strange Powers". He is well known for countless interviews with radio's "Chicago Ed" Schwartz and is regularly interviewed by the national and international news media.
